Choose by the work, not the name
A skid steer and mini excavator solve different problems. A skid steer is strongest for loading, grading, carrying, cleanup, pallet movement, snow or debris work, and fast attachment changes.
A mini excavator is strongest for trenching, drainage, utility work, footing prep, stump and root work, and jobs that need reach below ground level.
