Daily operating guidance for TYPHON STOMP 509 and X1300 skid steer loaders, with practical habits for startup, travel, loader control, slopes, loading, and shutdown.
Pre-operation walkaround
Before every shift, walk around the 509 or X1300 and check for fluid leaks, loose hardware, tire or track damage, missing pins, damaged hoses, and debris around the machine. Confirm the attachment plate is seated and the lock pins are fully engaged before the engine is started.
Startup and first movement
Start with the attachment flat on the ground, controls neutralized, and the travel path clear. Move slowly for the first cycle, test steering, braking, lift, tilt, and throttle response, then listen for abnormal noise before putting the machine under load.
Travel position
Carry buckets, forks, grapples, and loaded attachments low during travel. A low carry height improves visibility and stability, especially on uneven ground, ramps, gravel, or when crossing curbs and jobsite transitions.
Loader-arm control
Avoid fast lift, tilt, or dump movements when the machine is loaded. Sudden loader-arm movement can shift the center of gravity, spill material, or make the machine feel unstable during turning and braking.
Slope behavior
Plan slope work before driving onto the grade. Keep the heavy end of the machine uphill where practical, avoid side-hill travel, avoid turning with the loader arms raised, and do not lift high on uneven ground.
End-of-shift shutdown
Park on level ground, lower the attachment completely, let the machine settle, neutralize the controls, shut down according to the machine instructions, remove the key, and inspect for new leaks or damage before leaving the site.
