Daily Skid Steer Maintenance Checklist

Start every day with a safe inspection

Before starting a skid steer loader, operators should inspect the machine carefully. A short daily checklist can reduce downtime, improve safety, and protect hydraulic components.

Check fluids before startup

Inspect engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, and fuel level before operating the machine. Low fluid levels can damage pumps, seals, hoses, and engine components.

Inspect hydraulic hoses and couplers

Look for leaks, cracks, loose couplers, and damaged hose covers. Hydraulic leaks should be repaired before the machine is used on a jobsite.

Confirm safe operation

Check tires or tracks, attachment pins, lights, alarms, and the operator area before moving the machine.
